N-Methyl-N-(2-methylphenyl)acetamide

In the title compound, C(10)H(13)NO, the N atom and the methyl group are almost coplanar with the benzene ring to which they are bonded [deviations of 0.131 (1) and 0.038 (1) Å, respectively, from the ring plane]. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form a three-dimensional network. Mol-ecules are stacked parallel to the b-axis direction.

Activation of RidA chaperone function by N-chlorination

Escherichia coli RidA is a member of a structurally conserved, yet functionally highly diverse protein family involved in translation inhibition (human), Hsp90-like chaperone activity (fruit fly) and enamine/imine deamination (Salmonella enterica). Here, we show that E. coli RidA modified with HOCl acts as a highly effective chaperone. Although activation of RidA is reversed by treatment with D...

N-Methyl-N-phenyl-2-(quinolin-8-yloxy)acetamide monohydrate

In the title compound, C(18)H(16)N(2)O(2)·H(2)O, the dihedral angle between the quinoline ring system and the benzene ring is 87.19 (8)°. In the crystal, water mol-ecules are linked to acetamide mol-ecules via inter-molecular O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

2-Chloro-N-methyl-N-[2-(methylamino)phenyl]acetamide

The title compound, C(10)H(13)ClN(2)O, was obtained as a by-product in the reaction of 2-chloro-methyl-1H-benzimidazole, dimethyl sulfate and toluene to synthesise 2-chloro-methyl-1-methyl-benzimidazole. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the acetamide group is 89.72  (6)° while that between the aromatic ring and the chloracetyl group is 84.40 (4)°. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecu...

Study of Volumetric Properties of N,N-Dimethyl Acetamide and 1-Alkanols Binary Mixtures at 298.15 K

In this study, the densities, excess molar volumes and partial molar volumes of four binary systems containing N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) with 1-alkanols (1-butanol up to 1-heptanol) are measured at 298.15 K. The results showed both constructive and expansive excess volumetric behavior for studying binary mixtures. Deviation values of heavy alcohol have more positive and less negative excess...
